Midland (band)
Midland is an American country trio from Texas .
Band history
The three band members originally met in Los Angeles . Cameron Duddy was actually a director for music videos and was involved in the video for Locked Out of Heaven by Bruno Mars , for which he received an MTV Video Music Award . When he met Jess Carson, they both joined a band and made music for a while until Carson moved away. Mark Wystrach, actor and pant model, was another friend of Duddy's. When Duddy wanted to get married in August 2013, he invited his two friends. They also found time to make music together. After the wedding was over, they decided to form the band Midland , and they moved to Dripping Springs , Texas , to do it .
It wasn't until March 2016 that they were able to sign a record deal with the Big Machine label . Only half a year later their debut EP appeared with the band name as the title. It was the song Drinkin 'Problems on it that gave them their breakthrough. The song became a radio hit and made it into the official single charts in 2017 . The song earned two platinum awards . The EP also hit the charts and entered the top 40 country albums. In the same year, they followed up with their debut album On the Rocks and made it to number 20 in the sales charts and number 2 in the country albums. The album even reached a chart position in Great Britain and Switzerland. Then they received the ACM Awards the following year as Newcomer Band of the Year. There were also two Grammy nominations for the song Drinkin 'Problems . A second major hit from the debut album was Burn Out , which went gold.
The trio's next album, Let It Roll, followed in 2019 . It entered the country charts at number 1 and also surpassed the position of the first album in the official charts with number 16.
