Miesheimer Weg (Düren)

The Miesheimer Weg in the district town of Düren ( North Rhine-Westphalia ) is a historic inner-city street .

The street begins at Euskirchener Straße and led in an easterly direction to the submerged town of Miesheim . The small village was destroyed in the 17th century and not rebuilt. Today the road ends at Landesstraße 271 between Düren and Binsfeld . The five high-rise buildings on the street level with Euskirchener Strasse are visible from afar.

The street is already mentioned in the morning number files of 1685 as "Miesheimer Müllenweg" and "Miesheimer Weg". At the confluence area Euskirchener Straße / Miesheimer Weg stood the Düren gallows and probably also an infirmary .
