Mignonette Patricia Durrant OJ (born May 30, 1943 in Jamaica ) is a Jamaican diplomat .

Life

Mignonette Patricia Durrant holds a BA from the University of the West Indies . From 1964 to 1970 she was an administrative clerk at the Department of Agriculture in Kington. From 1971 to 1972 she was first-class legation secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. From 1972 to 1974 she was a ministerial advisor in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. From 1974 to 1977 she was a delegation counselor to the Organization of American States in Washington, DC From 1977 to 1981 she was deputy head of the policy department at the State Department in Kingston. From 1981 to 1983 she was assistant director at the State Department in Kingston. From 1983 to 1987 she was the representative of the Jamaican government's permanent representative at the UN headquarters . From January 16, 1987 to 1992, she was ambassador in Bonn , at the same time she was accredited with headquarters in Bonn to the Holy See , in Tel Aviv , The Hague and Bern . From 1992 to 1995 she was director general in the Jamaican Ministry of Foreign Affairs. From June 7, 1995 to 2002, she was the permanent representative of the Jamaican government at the UN headquarters .
