José Miguel Carlos Piñera Echenique ( Negro Piñera ; born October 18, 1954 in Santiago de Chile ) is a Chilean nightclub operator and singer.

Piñera is a son of the diplomat and politician José Piñera Carvallo . His siblings are the politicians José Piñera Echenique and Pablo Piñera and Sebastián Piñera , who was President of Chile from 2010 to 2014. He spent part of his youth in Belgium and the USA, where his father was the Chilean ambassador. After completing his studies in Chile, he traveled through America and formed a band called Hot Chile in the United States .

In 1981 he returned to Chile and immediately received a great deal of attention when he was introduced on the television program Vamos a ver by the presenter Raúl Matas as a musician from the USA and the youngest son of Don José Piñera. His first album Miguel Piñera y Fusión Latina was released on the SyM label of the sisters Sonia and Myriam von Schrebler . In 1982-83 he had great success with catchy titles such as La luna llena . In 1983 he was invited to the Festival de Viña del Mar , but there was no response. Although he continues his activities as a musician, he was no longer able to build on his successes.

From 1984 Piñera worked as a manager of various nightclubs, including the Entrenegros , which he ran with the musician Miguelo in the mid-1990s . In the next few years he was in the headlines mainly because of various scandals. In 2010 he took part in the program Bailando por un sueño , in the same year he released the album Bicentenario with contributions from several Chilean musicians.
