Miguel Prado Paz
Miguel Prado Paz (born August 1, 1905 in Tingüindín , † February 16, 1987 in San Miguel de Allende ) was a Mexican composer.
Life
Prado came to Mexico City with his family in 1911, where he attended the Colegio de Infantes . In 1921 he founded a music group with friends, with which he performed at parties, in night clubs and cabarets. Soon he became known as a composer with songs like Culpable no eres tú , Corazón dormido , Qué sabes tú and No puede ser . In addition to his own texts, he set poems by Gabriel Luna de la Fuente ( Duerme , Me muero sin ti , Odio ), Ricardo López Méndez ( Mentira , Nube , Prisa ), José Antonio Zorrilla ( Egoísmo , Frente al espejo , No es posible ) and Mario to music Molina Montes ( Cuéntame un cuento ).
He also composed for the radio and the revue theater, for example the song Duerme based on a text by Gabriel Luna de la Fuente, which became famous in the interpretation of Pedro Infante in Joselito Rodríguez 's film Angelitos Negros . In the 1950s he went on a successful concert tour through the Antilles and the USA and, on his return, became artistic director of the radio station Angelitos Negros . He later switched to the XEW channel, where his songs were interpreted by singers such as Alfonso Ortiz Tirado and José Mojica .
