Mihai Dumitrașcu

Mihai Dumitraşcu (born January 3, 1970 in Ploieşti ) is a former Romanian bobsledder .

He took part in the Winter Olympics for the first time in 1994 . In Lillehammer he was pushing the Romanian four-man bobsleigh and achieved 23rd place with Marian Chițescu , Iulian Păcioianu and pilot Florin Enache . With Enache, Dumitrașcu also drove the two-man bobsleigh, with which the two landed in 30th place.

At the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano , the Romanians were on the road with the same bobsleigh line-ups as four years before and achieved 27th (four-man bobsleigh) and 26th place (two-man bobsleigh). At the Olympic closing ceremony in Japan, Dumitrașcu was the flag bearer of the Romanian delegation. In 2001 he ended his active career.

After his sports career, Dumitraşcu studied veterinary medicine and became a veterinarian in a zoo. He turned down an offer from the Romanian Association to become a bobsleigh coach.
