Iulian Păcioianu

Iulian Păcioianu (born August 25, 1970 in Piteşti ) is a former Romanian bobsledder .

He took part in the Winter Olympics for the first time in 1994 . In Lillehammer he was pushing the Romanian four-man bobsleigh and reached 23rd place with Marian Chițescu , Mihai Dumitraşcu and pilot Florin Enache . At the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano , the Romanians landed 27th with the identical bobsleigh. In 2002 Păcioianu took part in his third Winter Olympics. In Salt Lake City , the Romanian four-man bobsleigh with Florin Enache, Adrian Duminicel , Iulian Păcioianu and Teodor Demetriad reached 21st place.

Even after his active career, Păcioianu remained loyal to bobsleigh and became a coach. He looked after the Romanian bobsleigh riders at the 2006, 2010, 2014 and 2018 Olympic Games. His son Mihai Păcioianu is a skeleton rider and in 2014 was accepted into the Romanian national team.
