Marian Chițescu

Marian Chițescu (born May 20, 1971 in Buşteni ) is a former Romanian bobsledder .

He started bobsleigh at the age of 17 and took part in the Winter Olympics for the first time in 1994 . In Lillehammer he was pushing the Romanian four-man bobsleigh and reached 23rd place with Iulian Păcioianu , Mihai Dumitraşcu and pilot Florin Enache . At the 1996 European Bobsleigh Championships in St. Moritz, Chițescu came in sixth.

In 1996 Chițescu took part in its second Winter Olympics. In Nagano , the Romanians ended up in 27th place with the same bobsled cast as four years before. After a three-year hiatus from the sport, Chițescu switched to skeleton and started at the national level between 2003 and 2006.

Even after his active career, Chițescu remained loyal to the sport and became a coach, both in bobsleigh and in skeleton. He was there as a supervisor at the 2014 Olympic Games.
