Mihai Adrian Mălaimare (born August 27, 1950 in Botoşani , Romania ) is a Romanian actor and politician .

Life

Mihai Adrian Mălaimare completed various training courses as an actor. In 1973 he completed his acting studies at the renowned National University of Theater and Film Art "Ion Luca Caragiale" . He then studied in Paris and trained as a clown. In addition to his theater engagement from 1973 to 1980 at the Bucharest National Theater, Mălaimare was also active in Romanian film. He played in Explosion , Philip the Good and Who's the Billionaire? With. From 1984 he also taught acting at the National University, Universitatea Ecologică and Gallaudet University in Washington, DC .

In parallel to his acting, Mălaimare was also politically active. From 1972 to 1989 he was a member of the Romanian Communist Party . From 1995 to 2002 he was a member of the social democratic Partidul Social Democrat . Then he was active in the liberal Partidul Național Liberal until 2008 . From 2000 to 2008 he was elected twice to the Romanian Parliament, with his first term on the Culture Committee.

Mălaimare is married to the theater director Anca Dana Florea. The couple have four children together, the eldest of whom is the cameraman Mihai Mălaimare Junior .
