Mihail Formuzal ( Russian Михаил Макарович Формузал / Mikhail Makarovich Formusal * 7. November 1959 in Beşghioz in Ceadîr-Lunga , Moldavian SSR ) is a Moldovan politician and was from 2006 to 2015 head of government ( "Başkan") of the autonomous region of Gagauzia . In this position he replaced Georgiy Tabunşçik , he did not run in the 2015 elections and was replaced by Irina Vlah .

Formusal studied in Geneva. He's an ethnic gagause . Politically, he supports closer ties to Russia and further autonomy rights for Gagauzia. Since 2011 he has headed the Party of Moldovan Regions he founded .
