Miho Obana

Miho Obana ( Japanese 小花 美 穂 , Obana Miho ; born April 26, 1970 in Tokyo , Japan ) is a Japanese mangaka that became famous in Germany with the ten-volume series Kodomo no Omocha (German children's toys ).

Life

She began her career as an assistant to Sakura Momoko , the illustrator of the hugely successful manga series Chibi Maruko-chan , and made her debut in 1991 with the manga Mado no mukō ( Eng . The other side of the window ), which appeared in Ribon magazine as professional manga artist. She then devoted herself to a number of short stories until she began her hit series Kodomo no Omocha in 1994 , which was filmed into a popular anime series, translated into numerous languages, received the Kodansha Manga Prize and ended in 1999. Until 2003 her works appeared regularly and almost exclusively in Ribon magazine, which is published by Shueisha- Verlag. With Aruyoudenai Otoko they recorded in 2003 their first manga that is aimed at older readers and Josei - manga magazine Chorus appeared.

She is close friends with the mangaka Mihona Fujii ( Gals! ) And Wataru Yoshizumi ( Marmalade Boy ). One of Obana's pastimes is playing the saxophone , a passion she also ascribed to the protagonist of the manga Andante . She is also involved as a saxophonist in a band.

Obana's works, which mostly focus on love, are mainly attributed to the Shōjo genre.
