Mike Chaloupka (born June 27, 1971 in Mississauga ) is a Canadian volleyball and beach volleyball player .

Career hall

Chaloupka played indoor volleyball with European clubs in the 1990s. The outside attacker was active at the French top club Paris UC until 1995 and then played a season in the Italian Serie A2 with Sira Cucine Falconara . From 1996 to 2000 he was at the German Bundesliga club SV Bayer Wuppertal and became German champion in 1997 . Chaloupka also had 120 appearances in the Canadian national team .

Career Beach

Parallel to his indoor career, Chaloupka also played beach volleyball. On the FIVB World Tour he had his best result with Mark Heese in Almería in 1992 with ninth place. During his time in Wuppertal, Chaloupka also played successfully at the German championships in Timmendorfer Strand . With Andreas Scheuerpflug he became German runner-up in 1997 and with Wolfgang Kuck he took third place a year later. From 1999 to 2001 Chaloupka played with Ahren Cadieux on the World Tour without reaching any top placements. At the 2001 World Championships in Klagenfurt , Cadieux / Chaloupka came in 33rd.
