Michael Scott "Mike" Kennedy (* 26. February 1959 in Toledo , Ohio ) is a former American American football poker players. He played on the position of defensive back in the National Football League (NFL).

Career

Kennedy played college football at the University of Toledo for the Toledo Rockets from 1977 to 1979 and 1981 . Already in the fourth game of his freshman season he got on the starting line-up and considered himself one of the best defensive backs of the Rockets. He scored 314 tackles during his time with the Rockets and was voted best player on the team in 1979 and 1981, as well as in the first team All- MAC . In 1981 he was also named second-team All American by Newspaper Enterprise selected. In 1979 he took third place in the choice of best defensive player in the MAC. For the Rockets' 100th anniversary in 2017, Kennedy was voted 18th on the All-Century Team.

Kennedy played the entire preseason of the 1983 season with the Buffalo Bills , but was fired before the start of the regular season . However, on September 28, 1983, the Bills re-engaged him. He played the rest of the season with the Bills, playing seven games from the start. Kennedy scored 59 tackles and caught an interception , which he carried back for a 22-yard touchdown . He was released on August 27, 1984, before the start of the 1984 season , but signed on August 30, 1984 by the Houston Oilers . On August 21, 1985, Kennedy was released from the Oilers.
