Mike Okot

Michael "Mike" Okot (born December 25, 1958 ) is a former Ugandan athlete .

Okot was third at the 1982 African Championships in the 400-meter run . With 46.20 seconds he was behind Amadou Dia Ba from Senegal and James Atuti from Kenya. With the Ugandan 4 x 400 meter relay , he also won bronze in 1982. At the World Championships in Helsinki in 1983 , he was eliminated over 400 meters with 46.38 seconds in the quarter-finals, the relay was disqualified in the preliminary run.

At the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, Okot was eliminated over 400 meters in advance. The Ugandan relay team with John Goville , Moses Kyeswa , Peter Rwamuhanda and Mike Okot as the final runners reached the finals and finished seventh with a new national record of 3: 02.09 minutes. Okot was also at the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul, here he ran in the Ugandan 4 x 100 meter relay, but retired after the heats. Mike Okot lived temporarily in Sweden and was Swedish indoor champion in the 800 meter run in 1988.

Mike Okot was 1.73 meters tall and had a competition weight of 60 kilograms.
