Mike Wilks
Mike Wilks (* 1947 in London ) is an English artist, illustrator and book author.
Life
At the age of 13 he received a scholarship for art school . He studied graphic design and ran an agency for several years before devoting himself entirely to writing and illustrating from 1975. His books are mostly original non-fiction books. The artist himself and his work was the subject of a documentary on British television. His original works, which often depict a surreal dream world, hang in the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Victoria and Albert Museum in London and in private collections. In 2007 his first novel Mirrorscape was published, also the first part of a trilogy.
He wrote nine books including the bestseller The Ultimate Alphabet (Pavilion Books, 1987) with over 750,000 copies.
