biography

Itō had her debut in the World Cup on February 14, 2004 in Inawashiro , where she was 24th in the Mughal competition. Almost a year later, she was classified in the top ten for the first time in the same place. In the 2005/06 season she first established herself in midfield and achieved 20th place at the 2006 Winter Olympics . The 2006/07 World Cup season was similar, with fifth place as the best result.

In the 2007/08 season Itō was able to improve and was classified four times in the top ten. This trend continued in the winter of 2008/09 when she got six top 10 results. Among them was third place in Voss on February 20, 2009 , her only podium finish in the World Cup so far. Almost three weeks later, she won the silver medal in the dual moguls competition at the 2009 World Championships in Inawashiro, losing to her compatriot Aiko Uemura in the finals. As fourth in the Moguls competition, she just missed another medal.

Itō drove into the top ten twice in the 2009/10 World Cup season and was twelfth at the 2010 Winter Olympics . In Almaty she won the silver medal in the Moguls competition and the bronze medal in the Dual Moguls competition at the 2011 Asian Winter Games. In the 2011/12 World Cup season, she achieved two podium finishes. She achieved her first World Cup victory in the Dual Moguls discipline on February 24, 2013 in Inawashiro. At the 2013 World Championships in Voss, she won the silver medal in both disciplines.
