Milan Dobeš

Milan Dobeš (born July 29, 1929 in Přerov ) is a Slovak object artist and an important representative of kinetic art ; he lives and works in Bratislava , Slovakia .

life and work

Milan Dobeš studied at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava with Ladislav Čemický , Bedrich Hoffstädter and at the Faculty of Landscape Painting with Professor Dezider Milly . Dobeš also had study visits to Paris , London , New York City and Vienna .

He has been creating his visual-kinetic and light-kinetic objects since the 1960s. With his work, Dobeš is one of the leading artists of dynamic constructivism . In Bratislava, where he has lived since the 1940s, a museum has been dedicated to his work. In 1968 he participated in the 4th documenta in Kassel with five kinetic objects .
