Milan Kalina ( Serbian - Cyrillic Милан Калина , born August 13, 1956 in Belgrade ) is a Serbian handball official and former handball player who was mostly used on the back center .
The 1.90 m tall and 96 kg heavy right-handed player began his career with RK Red Star Belgrade , but remained without a title in the Yugoslav league. In 1985 he moved to FC Barcelona . There he finally achieved the longed-for club success. With Barça he won the ASOBAL league six times , the Copa del Rey de Balonmano twice, the Asobal Supercopa five times, the Catalan league four times and the European Cup Winners 'Cup and the European Champions' Cup once .
With the Yugoslav national team he won the gold medal at the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles. In the tournament he scored 21 goals in five games.
After the end of his playing career, Kalina stayed in Barcelona and took on various functions at the club. The father of five, who speaks Serbian, English, French, Russian, Spanish and Catalan, is responsible for looking after the referees and for public relations.
