Milena Hiemann

Milena Hiemann (born July 1, 1997 ) is a German vaulting athlete .

Career

Milena Hiemann comes from the Rhineland. From her youth she was interested in equestrian sport in the form of vaulting. That is why she became a member of the RGV Neuss-Grimlinghausen sports club , which had a special vaulting group, the Neuss team . Since 2003 she has been vaulting in the position of middle / lower woman, first in the junior group, then also in the senior division.

Hiemann was used by her club in international competitions, where she achieved considerable success with the Neuss team. First, her team became European champions in team vaulting for the first time in 2011. After that, Team Neuss won the runner-up in 2012. This was followed by victory for the second time in 2013 and thus another gold medal at the European Championships. The highlight of their successful series was finally the first place at the vaulting world championships in 2014.

In 2012, Hiemann received an invitation from the South African Association to take part in the South African Vaulting Championships as a guest.

For winning the gold medal at the 2014 World Championships, Milena Hiemann and the Neuss team received the silver laurel leaf from the Federal President in November 2017 .

In addition, she was one of the 15 athletes from North Rhine-Westphalia who were awarded the Sports Honor Medal on May 9, 2015.
