Penn State (2016-2018)

In his first season he was mainly used in the special team as a kick returner , since the position of running back was occupied by Saquon Barkley . That year, Sanders set a new record for the most kickoff returns (33) in a season in college history.

In his second season, the majority of the season went to Saquon Barkley as running back and Sanders had to be content with the role as a substitute player.

With Barkley's departure after the 2017 season, Sanders took over the position of first running back. While he only got a total of 56 runs in his first two seasons, he made 220 attempts in his third year. On September 21, 2018, he ran for 220 yards and three touchdowns in the game against Illinois - both career records.
