Green enameled laurel branches protrude between them. On the cross arms is the order currency Voor moed, insults, trouw ( "For courage, diligence, loyalty"). The obverse of the central shield shows the Burgundian fire steel made of gold. The back of the center shield made of blue enamel shows a W in a laurel wreath. A golden royal crown is attached under the order cross. The cross for the knight class is smaller and made of silver.

Ribbon and way of wearing

The ribbon is bordered in orange and blue.

The grand crosses wear an eight-pointed silver star with the order cross, the commanders wear the cross on the neck as a neck medal and on the chest. The knight class decorate the cross in the buttonhole. The second class has the breast star in silver. The material benefits are strongly class-dependent.
