The 22nd Tactical Air Force Base Náměšť (Czech 22. základna vrtulníkového letectva Náměšť ) is a Czech military airfield of the Air Force of the Czech Republic . It is located in western Moravia, southwest of the city of Náměšť nad Oslavou in the Vysočina region , a good 40 km west of Brno . It serves as the main base of operations for Czech military helicopters .

history

When the Czech Republic was founded after the end of the Cold War, the base was the location of the 20th fighter-bomber regiment , 20th stíhací bombardovací letecký pluk (20th SBoLP), equipped with Su-22M-4 / Su-22UM-3K and some L-29 . In April, the unit with the Su-25 squadrons, which had previously been subordinate to the 30th air raid regiment in Pardubice , was regrouped to the 32nd Tactical Air Base, 32základna taktického letectva (32zTL). The Su-25 was decommissioned at the end of 2000 and the Su-22 in the spring. The first L-159ALCA arrived in 2001 and was replaced by the L-159A the following year. However, the 32zTL was decommissioned at the end of 2003.

The first Mi-24 were placed under Náměšť in 2008 and the newly established 221st squadron, which was formed from the 331st squadron in Přerov . The Mi-171, which arrived in 2013, were placed under the newly established 222nd Squadron, which was formed from elements of the previous 332nd Squadron. In the same year, the 221st Squadron also received some Mi-171s.
