Miloš Jirko
Miloš Jirko (born January 20, 1900 in Němetice near Valašské Meziříčí , † June 24, 1961 in Prague ) was a Czech editor , poet , librarian and translator .
Life
After attending grammar school in Valašské Meziříčí from 1911 to 1919, interrupted by military service in World War I , he studied modern philology at Charles University in Prague and later at the University in Bratislava . In 1924 he finished his studies and worked as an editor for the newspaper Böhmisches Wort (České slovo) until 1930 . From 1940 he was employed as a librarian in the capital of Prague, after which he was imprisoned for participating in the resistance. After the war he worked as a librarian until 1948.
He wrote for the publications paths (Cesty), the magazines June (Červen), trunk (Kmen), host (host), North and East (Sever a východ), Lumír and the People's Daily ( Lidové noviny ).
His posie was determined by sensualism .
