The Mini-Type , Mini Bulk Carrier , Hakodate Mini or Mini ship , is a series of multi-purpose coastal vessels with shallow drafts.

history

The series was initiated in the late 1960s by the Greek shipowner George P. Livanos . Subsequently, a total of 52 units were ordered from several Japanese shipyards for his shipping company Ceres Hellenic Shipping Enterprises . The ship type was intended for use in areas with poorly developed port infrastructure and with shallow water depths and was used, among other things, in operations by the United Nation in Bangladesh and India.

technology

The ships are designed as multi-purpose dry cargo ships with a deckhouse arranged right aft and a shallow draft. The ships have two holds with a large deck opening . Most of the ships were equipped with one or two ship cranes. The cargo hold volume of the ships is 3785 m³ grain space and 3669 m³ ball space.

The ships are propelled by two diesel engines and enable a speed of 10  knots .
