Minipreço is the largest discount chain in Portugal . The head office is in Lisbon .

The supermarket chain operates 534 branches with a turnover of around 917 million euros in the domestic market. About a third of the branches are franchisees (as of 2011). According to a newspaper report by Expresso , Minipreço plans to expand the chain to 600 branches nationwide by the end of 2016. Minipreço's market share in Portugal is ahead of the chains of Pingo Doce (362 stores) and Lidl (227 stores).

Minipreço is now part of the Spanish group Distribuidora Internacional de Alimentación SA , but continues to operate under the brand name Minipreço.
