Ministry of Kolowrat
The Kolowrat Ministry of the Austrian Empire, chaired by Prime Minister Franz Anton von Kolowrat-Liebsteinsky , was in office from March 20 to April 19, 1848.
history
As a result of the March Revolution in 1848, State Chancellor Prince Metternich , who was hated by the people for his rigidly conservative attitude, had to resign. A Council of Ministers of the Austrian Empire was formed, with Count Kolowrat-Liebsteinsky appointed as its head. He was the first constitutional Prime Minister in the Austrian Empire . He only held this office from March 20 to April 19, 1848. He was succeeded as Prime Minister Karl Ludwig von Ficquelmont , who, however, as a member of Metternich's party and a proven friend of Russia , was forced to resign by demonstrations at the beginning of May.
