The Ministry of Oil and Gas of the Republic of Kazakhstan ( Kazakh Қазақстан Республикасы Әділет министрлігі , Russian Қазақстан Республикасы Мұнай және газ министрлігі ) was the Ministry of Oil and Gas of Kazakhstan . It was disbanded in August 2014; its tasks were assigned to the newly created Ministry of Energy .

tasks

The ministry was founded in March 2010. The new ministry was supposed to replace the state oil company KazMunayGas from unsuitable functions that conflict between state and commercial interests.

The Ministry was a central executive body of the Kazakh government for the implementation of state policy in the coordination of oil and gas production, the petrochemical industry and the transport of hydro-carbon raw materials.

The main objectives of the ministry were to participate in the promotion and implementation of state policies affecting oil and gas production, the petrochemical industry and the transport of hydro-carbon raw materials. The maintenance of the development of fuel and energy projects and the realization of international cooperation in the Kazakh oil and natural gas industry were also within the scope of activity of the ministry.
