Sauat Myngbayev

Sauat Muchametbajuly Myngbajew ( Kazakh Сауат Мұхаметбайұлы Мыңбаев , Russian Сауат Мухаметбаевич Мынбаев / Sauat Muchametbajewitsch Mynbajew * 19th November 1962 ) is a Kazakh politician and current CEO of Kazakhstan Temir Zholy . From March 2010 to July 2013 he was Kazakh Minister for Oil and Gas .

biography

Myngbajew graduated from Lomonosov University in Moscow in 1985, majoring in economics and cybernetics. By November 1989 he took up postgraduate studies, also at Lomonosov University, and then worked as a teacher at the Almaty Institute of National Economy.

From 1992 to 1995 he was the first deputy chairman of Kazkommertsbank , a major Kazakh bank , before he was Kazakhstan's deputy finance minister from January 1995 to February 1998. He then held the post of Kazakh Finance Minister for around eleven months. In 1999, Myngbayev became deputy administrative officer in the administration of Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev . In the same year he was appointed Minister of Agriculture by the President.

In May 2001 Sauat Myngbajew was dismissed as minister and he took over the management of the Kazakh Development Bank in Astana . After two years at the helm of the development bank, he took over the management of Caspian Industrial & Financial Group Ltd. in Almaty .

After Myngbajew held managerial positions in companies for several years, he became Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan in mid-2003 and Minister of Industry and Trade in 2004. From January 2006 to August 2007 he was Chairman of the Kazakhstan Holding for Governmental Assets Management Samruk. In August 2007 he was appointed Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of Kazakhstan by presidential decree. After the dissolution of this ministry in the course of a restructuring of the government in March 2010, he filled the newly created post of Minister for Oil and Gas of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Since July 3, 2013, Myngbajew was the chairman of the board of the state oil and natural gas company KazMunayGas . After more than five years at the helm of the company, he was replaced by Alik Aidarbayev in November 2018 and Temir Scholy, Chairman of the Board of Management of Kazakhstan, on November 20 .

In November 2017 he will be listed in the publications of the Paradise Papers .
