Arman Dunayev

Arman Ghaliasqaruly Dunajew ( Kazakh Арман Ғалиасқарұлы Дунаев , Russian Арман Галиаскарович Дунаев Arman Galiaskarowitsch Dunajew * 7. October 1966 in Kogaly, Taldy-Kurgan Oblast , Kazakh SSR ) is a Kazakh economist and politician . Between 2004 and 2006 he was Minister of Finance of Kazakhstan.

Life

Arman Dunajew was born in 1966 in the village of Kogaly in what was then Taldy-Kurgan Oblast. He graduated in 1988 from the Faculty of Philosophy and Economics of the Kazakh Kirov State University . In 1991 a further degree in economics followed at the Lomonosov University in Moscow .

After graduating from Kirov University, he began his professional career as an assistant at the Dagestan State Medical Institute . Between 1992 and 1993, Dunayev worked as the head of the external relations department of the regional administration of South Kazakhstan . He then held various managerial positions at Astana Holding. In 1998 he became head of the investment and international programs department at the Kazakh bank TuranAlem . From February 2000 he worked for the Kazakh Ministry of Finance, first as deputy director, then as director of the state credit department in the ministry. From May 2001 to September 2002 he held the position of Deputy Minister of Finance, then until June 2003 he was Deputy Minister of Economy and Budget Planning. In June 2003 he became Chairman of the Board of the CJSC National Investment Fund before he was again Deputy Treasury Secretary from March 2004. On April 5, 2004, he was appointed Minister of Finance of Kazakhstan in the government of Prime Minister Danial Akhmetov . After almost two years as a member of the government, he was replaced in this position by Natalja Korschowa in January 2006 , instead becoming chairman of the agency for the regulation and supervision of financial market and financial organizations. From January to October 2008, Dunayev was chairman of the board of the Kazyna Sustainable Development Fund and then deputy chairman of the national fund Samruk-Kazyna, and from December 2011 to February 2012 he was an advisor to the chairman of the board. From September 2013 he was on the board of directors of Halyk Bank and Altyn Bank. He has been CEO of Kazkommertsbank since August 2017 .
