Jeff Jur

Jeffrey "Jeff" Jur (born June 1955 in Chicago , Illinois ) is an American cinematographer .

Life

After Jeffrey Jur showed his talent in a school class with Super 8 and 16 mm films while he was still in high school , he received a scholarship at Columbia College Chicago , where he studied film. His first job was in a company specializing in documentaries , business films and commercials , where he worked as a camera assistant. At the same time, he worked as a cameraman for small student and documentary films, which by chance gave him the opportunity to shoot four episodes of the American Playhouse series. As a result, he made it for the first time that a feature film was broadcast nationwide in 1982 and he then received further job offers for feature films such as Soul Man , Tödliches Versteck and The Big Picture .

Although Jur works most of the time for television, his camera work on films such as Dirty Dancing and My Big Fat Greek Wedding made him internationally famous.
