Walter Achenbach

Walter Achenbach (born August 25, 1921 in Essen ; † January 10, 2015 ) was a German medic .

Life

He was the son of the authorized signatory Walter Achenbach and studied medicine at the universities of Erlangen, Kiel, Würzburg and Münster. In 1947 he was with the thesis About the osteomyelosclerosis at the University of Kiel to Dr. med. PhD . In 1956 he completed his habilitation at the University of Cologne with the habilitation thesis Newer Findings and Problems of Hemorrhagic Diathesis .

From 1956 he was a private lecturer and from 1962 an adjunct professor at the University of Cologne.

In the early 1960s, he made medical research trips to Japan and the United States .

According to him, this is Achenbach syndrome named.
