Bolat Aqsholaqov

Bolat Oraluly Aqscholaqow ( Kazakh Болат Оралұлы Ақшолақов , Russian Болат Уралович Акчулаков Bolat Uralowitsch Aktschulakow * 9. April 1971 in Guryev , Kazakh SSR ) is a Kazakh economist and politician .

Life

Bolat Aqscholaqow was born in Guryev in 1971 . He graduated from the Kazakh State Academy of Management in 1993 .

He began his professional career in 1994 as an economist at Alem Bank . Between 1995 and 1997 he worked as a department head for the Central Asian Bank for Cooperation and Development. He then worked for the Kazakh state company Kazakhoil and in various positions for the British company Commonwealth & British Services Ltd. active. In 2003 he started to work for the Kazakh state oil company KazMunayGas . Here he worked for three years as director of the department for the management of shares in joint ventures. In 2006 he held a political position for the first time as Deputy Minister for Energy and Natural Resources. After two years in this position, he became managing director of the Samruk-Kazyna state fund in January 2008. He then worked for a private company before becoming CEO of KazMunayGas on October 5, 2011. As a result of the violent protests in Shangaosen, Aqscholaqow was dismissed from this post in December of the same year.

Just days after his release, he returned to government as Deputy Minister for Oil and Gas . He held this post until August 24, 2014. Between September 2014 and February 2016 he was General Manager of Almex Petrochemical and then General Manager of Kazenergy until November 2017. He has been Deputy Energy Minister since November 28, 2017.
