Aqylbek Kürischbajew

Aqylbek Qaschyghululy Kürischbajew ( Kazakh Ақылбек Қажығұлұлы Күрішбаев , Russian Ахылбек Кажигулович Куришбаев Achylbek Kaschigulowitsch Kurischbajew * 13. April 1961 in Alma-Ata , Kazakh SSR ) is a Kazakh politician . Since 2011 he has been the rector of the Kazakh Agricultural University .

Life

Aqylbek Kürischbajew was born in Alma-Ata in 1961 . He graduated from the Kazakh Agricultural Institute in Alma-Ata in 1983 with a degree in Agricultural Sciences . In 1997 he obtained a doctorate.

After graduating, he first worked at the Kazakh Agricultural Research Institute, where from 1992 he held the position of deputy director. In 1997 he became director of the Kazakh Agricultural Research Institute. On February 8, 2002, he was appointed Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Kazakhstan. In 2006 he then worked in the Kazakh Ministry of Agriculture , where he became head of department. From 2007 he was again Deputy Minister of Agriculture and on April 8, 2008 he was appointed Minister of Agriculture in the cabinet of Kärim Mässimow . He remained a member of the Kazakh government for three years and was appointed rector of the Kazakh Agricultural Technical University in Nur-Sultan on October 18, 2011 (Astana until 2019) . From 2016, in addition to his role as university rector, he is also deputy Äkim (mayor) of Nur-Sultan.
