Schänibek Karibschanow

Schänibek Sälimuly Karibschanow ( Kazakh Жәнібек Сәлімұлы Кәрібжанов , Russian Жаныбек Салимович Карибжанов ; born November 23, 1948 in Aibas, Russian SFSR ) is a Kazakh politician.

Life

Schänibek Karibschanow was born in 1948 in the village of Aibas, Scherbakul district in Omsk Oblast . He graduated from the State Agricultural Institute in Omsk in 1971 . After graduating, he worked at the State Agricultural Institute until January 1975 before he was then, among other things, deputy head of the Scientific Research and Technological Design Department at the Institute for Cybernetics in Moscow . From July 1982 he was the director of an agricultural enterprise in the Oktyabrskoye district in the Torghai region and the first deputy chairman of the agricultural and industrial committee of the Torghai region.

In February 1987 he became head of the Planning Department for Social and Economic Development of the Kazakh SSR . From September 1989 to February 1992 he was head of the agricultural department of the Communist Party of Kazakhstan , head of the department of social and economic policy and head of the presidential administration and the department of finance and the cabinet of ministers of the Kazakh SSR.

After Kazakhstan's independence, he was appointed head of the regional administration of the Kokshetau region in 1992. After about a year in this post, he held the post of Deputy Prime Minister from January 1993 and was also chairman of the State Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan for State Property. Since June 1994 Karibschanow belonged to the Kazakh government. He was appointed Minister of Agriculture under Prime Minister Sergei Tereshchenko and retained this position under his successor Akeschan Kaschegeldin , but was replaced by Serik Aqymbekow in March 1996 and made deputy Prime Minister again. On July 3rd, 1997 Karibschanow was appointed Äkim (governor) of the Aqmola region . In December he became Deputy Prime Minister again and from January 1999 he was Kazakhstan's Agriculture Minister for the second time. In July of the same year, he was dismissed from both positions and appointed advisor to Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev . Between November 2001 and January 2007 he was Ambassador of Kazakhstan to the People's Republic of China . On January 11, 2007, he was appointed Akim of East Kazakhstan . In May 2008 he became a Member of Parliament for Nur Otan in the Mäschilis .
