The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology ( Arabic وزارة الاتصالات وتكنولوجيا المعلومات, DMG Wizārat al-Ittiṣālāt wa-Tiknūlūǧiyā l-Maʿlūmāt ) is Egypt 's Ministry of Media and Information Technology .

Egypt has maintained the State Information Service (SIS) of the Ministry of Information since 1954, with 32 foreign and 65 domestic offices, and 29 press centers. Ayman el-Qaffas , son-in-law of the intelligence chief Omar Suleiman , was head of this office until February 15, 2008. He was replaced by Ismail Khairat . Information Minister Anas Ahmed Nabih El-Fiqqi was placed under house arrest on February 12, 2011 and resigned from his post.

After the 2011 revolution , it was reconstituted in its current form.
