The Ministry of the primary and secondary education ( Ministry for Basic and Secondary Education, MoBSE ), or shortly Ministry of Education, is a ministry of the government of the West African country Gambia .

Location and description

The seat of the ministry is in the capital Banjul in the Willy Thorpe Building.

The Ministry of Education is responsible for primary and secondary education .

history

From the original Ministry of Education in 2007 for the higher education , the research and science in Gambia, a separate ministry, the Ministry of Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology ( Ministry of Higher Education and Reserach, MoHERST ) created.

Until mid-2009, the name was Gambia Department of State for Basic & Secondary Education (DoSBSE) .
