Claudiana Cole

Claudiana Ayo Cole , also Claudia Cole , (* 20th century) is a politician in the West African state of Gambia . Since February 2017 she is Education Minister ( Minister of Basic and Secondary Education ) in the Cabinet Adama Barrow .

Life

Thanks to a Commonwealth scholarship , she was able to attend Newcastle University , where she obtained a Master of Education degree (M.Ed.) .

Cole worked as a regional education director in the Upper River Region ( officially regional education director for regional 6 ). There was a dispute about funding for female education at the Model Senior Secondary School (President's Empowerment of Girls' Education Project (PEGEP)) which was held in the Brikama court . In November 2015 she visited the Nasir Ahmadiyya Senior Secondary School in Basse Santa Su and ordered it to be temporarily closed after members of the " Green Youth " had occupied it.

On February 22, 2017, the newly elected President Adama Barrow appointed Cole as Minister of Education as Minister of Education for Elementary and Secondary Education.
