Alexandre Carrier (born October 8, 1996 in Québec City , Québec ) is a Canadian ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Nashville Predators in the National Hockey League since November 2015 and for their farm team, the Milwaukee Admirals , in the American Hockey League is used.
Career
Alexandre Carrier played in his youth for the Association du Hockey Mineur de Varennes and for the ice hockey team of the Collège Antoine-Girouard in Saint-Hyacinthe . In 2012, the defender was selected in fourth position by the Olympiques de Gatineau in the entry draft of the Ligue de hockey junior majeur du Québec (LHJMQ) and played for the team in the top junior league of his home province at the beginning of the 2012/13 season. This year he also took part in the World U-17 Hockey Challenge 2013 and the Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament 2013 at international level and won the gold medal at the latter. In his second year in Gatineau, Carrier led the Olympiques as assistant captain and, after the end of the season, won the bronze medal at the U18 World Cup in Canada with Canada's U18 team . In the following season Carrier achieved his best personal statistic with 55 scorer points in 68 games, was subsequently appointed to the league's Second All-Star Team and then selected in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft in 115th position by the Nashville Predators . During his fourth and final LHJMQ season at Gatineau, the Predators equipped him with an entry-level contract in November 2015 .
At the beginning of the 2015/16 season, Carrier switched to the organization of the Predators and was initially employed by their farm team , the Milwaukee Admirals , in the American Hockey League (AHL). In addition, the defender was appointed to the Predators' squad for two games for the first time in January 2017, making his debut in the National Hockey League (NHL).

family
His older brother Samuel Carrier (* 1992) is also an ice hockey player and was selected in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft in 176th position by the Washington Capitals . Her father Bernard Carrier was also active in ice hockey, but did not get beyond the LHJMQ.
