The Minju-peyonghwa Party ( Korean : 민주 평화당, transliteration : Minju-peyonghwa-dang , German : Party for Democracy and Peace ) is a liberal party in South Korea , which on 6 February 2018 by former members of Gungminui Party was founded .
history
After the party leaders of the liberal Gungminui Party and the conservative Bareun Party decided to merge as the Bareun mirae party on February 13, 2018 , resistance arose within the Gungminui Party. As a result, the Minju-peyonghwa Party was founded on February 6, 2018. In particular, MPs from the Jeolla province criticized the merger, as the province is liberal. The party has 14 members in the National Assembly of South Korea . There was a factional community with the Jeongui Party with a total of 20 members, which was registered on April 2, 2018. However, that was fraction automatically dissolved on 23 July 2018 after the Jeongui Party MPs Roh Hoe-chan suicide committed since the Group thus fell below the minimum size of 20 members to a seat.
