The August Mink GmbH & Co. KG , better known by its brand name Mink brushes , is a German manufacturer of industrial brushes with headquarters in Baden-Württemberg Göppingen-Jebenhausen . The company is considered the world market leader in the field of bundle bristles.

history

Founded in 1845 as a small brush binding company by August Mink in Stuttgart.

In 1900 the King of Württemberg appointed the brush binding company to the royal court purveyor.

Mink zigzag system

In 1945 the company building was destroyed in an American bomb attack. After the reconstruction, the small company employed five people in Uhingen .

The former managing partner Peter Zimmermann joined his father's company in 1975. He decided to specialize the company in exclusively technical brushes in a bundle system. In 1980 Peter Zimmermann set the course for further company growth with the construction of new company buildings.

In 1982 Mink developed the first modular system for roller brushes, the "Mink Zig-Zag System". This was followed by the “Mink Kett System”, a brush concept for transport and handling as well as for surface cleaning, and the “Mink Flex System” for sealing any gaps and openings.

Another brush system was brought onto the market in 2004 with the Mink spreader roller for smoothing film and material webs. The Mink Care system for the gentle assembly of sensitive components was developed in 2007.

In 2011, the company premises were expanded to include the Mink Campus with administration and factory buildings. The latest development - the "Mink Bubble Brush" - has been on the market since 2014.

In 2015, Peter Zimmermann brought his company shares (80%) into a family foundation, the Peter Zimmermann Foundation.

In 2017, construction of another production building (Plant 4) began at the Göppingen location.

At the beginning of 2019, the name was changed to August Mink GmbH & Co. KG and the existing production building (Plant 3) was expanded to include a hall.
