Minnesota State Colleges and Universities System
The Minnesota State Colleges and Universities System (MnSCU) is an association of state colleges and universities in the US state of Minnesota . It is independent from the University of Minnesota .
The system has existed since July 1, 1995, when all state community colleges , technical colleges and state universities were merged into a network according to a law passed in 1991 . Today 32 institutions in 47 locations with 54 campuses belong to it. Twenty-five institutions are two-year colleges and seven universities. The annual budget for all facilities is 1.8 billion US dollars (as of 2007/08).
