Marshall is a city (with the status " City ") and the administrative seat of Lyon County in the southwest of the US -amerikanischen state of Minnesota . In 2010 , Marshall had 13,680 residents. Both Southwest Minnesota State University and the headquarters of the Schwan Food Company are located in Marshall. The city is named after former Minnesota Governor William Rainey Marshall .
