Minuscule 54 (numbered after Gregory-Aland ), ε 445 ( from Soden ) is a Greek minuscule manuscript from the New Testament . The manuscript is dated to the year 1337 or 1338 by its colophon .

description

The codex contains the full text of the four Gospels on 230 sheets of parchment (16.3 cm × 12.4 cm). It was written in one column with 25-27 lines each. The codex contains Prolegomena, Synaxarion, Menologion, tables of κεφαλαια, τιτλοι, lectionary markings, signatures, and Ammonian sections, however the Eusebian canon is missing.

The Greek text of the Codex represents the Byzantine text type and is assigned to Category V. The handwriting is a sister or close relative of 109 , sister, mother or daughter of 171 , mother or grandmother of 47 , 56 , 58 .

The manuscript beautifully written by Theodosius. John Mill and Richard Bentley compared them.

The Codex is currently in the Bodleian Library (Selden Supra 29) in Oxford .
