Minuscule 98 (numbered after Gregory-Aland ), ε 266 ( from Soden ) is a Greek minuscule manuscript of the New Testament on 222 sheets of parchment (21.5 × 165 cm). Using paleography , the manuscript was dated to the 11th century. It is complete.

The manuscript contains the text of the four Gospels . It was written in one column with 25 lines each. The manuscript contains lists of the κεφαλαια, κεφαλαια, τιτλοι, ammonian sections (not the Eusebian canon ), lectionary markings, signatures, στιχοι and pictures.

The Greek text of the Codex represents the Byzantine text type . Kurt Aland placed it in Category V a.

history

Edward Daniel Clarke (1769–1822) brought this manuscript to England from the east.

It was collated by a stranger for Johann Martin Augustin Scholz (in Matthew 6; 9; 10; Mark 5; 6; Luke 4; 5; 6).

The codex is located in the Bodleian Library in Oxford (ED Clarke 5).
