Miriam Kurrle

Miriam Kurrle (born November 21, 1984 ) is a German soprano and choir director.

Life

Miriam Kurrle completed her music studies at the Karlsruhe University of Music . She also studied English and German at the universities in Tübingen and Heidelberg . In 2012 she received a scholarship from the Richard Wagner Association , and in 2018 she received a scholarship from the Zonta Club Karlsruhe.

After ten years at the Pforzheim Theater , mostly as a substitute, as well as engagements at the Operettenbühne Wien , the Lübeck Summer Operetta and Opera Classica Europa, she was an ensemble member at the Chamber Opera Cologne from 2015-2017 . In addition to small and medium-sized roles, her sung roles include Mimi ( La Bohème ), Hanna Glawari ( The Merry Widow ) and Saffi ( The Gypsy Baron ) as well as Brünnhilde ( Wagner's Ring for Children ) and Brunhild von Isenland ( Die Lustigen Nibelungen ).

She has been engaged by the following orchestras for opera and operetta galas: Frankfurt Symphony, Cologne Symphony, Southwest German Chamber Orchestra, Starkenburg Philharmonic, Rhine-Main Philharmonic, Smetana Philharmonic Prague and Johann Strauss Orchestra Frankfurt. She also gives operetta concerts with the Marcel Baluta Orchestra Bad Wildbad and the Salon Ensemble Sentimental.

In addition to her work in the field of church music, she also works as a choir director and voice trainer. Her best-known student is Anthony Muresan, Federal Prize Winner Jugend Musiziert Gesang 1st place in 2015 and a young student at the Karlsruhe University of Music.

In 2017, the first scientific publication appeared on the influence of music and music therapy on children with ADHD . As part of her doctorate , she researches operettas by female composers.

Miriam Kurrle lives in Bad Herrenalb (Northern Black Forest).
