Miriam Ziv

Miriam Ziv is an Israeli diplomat .

Ziv studied political science and English linguistics at Tel Aviv University . In 1972 she began to work in the diplomatic service of the Israeli Foreign Ministry . During her diplomatic career, she was, among other things, from 1974 Vice Consul at the Israeli Consulate General in Toronto for five years , worked at the Israeli Embassy in Rome in the early 1990s and was a member of the bilateral commission for the establishment of diplomatic relations between Israel and the Holy See . Since September 2008 she has been the Israeli ambassador to Canada . Ziv is the first woman to hold this post.

Ziv is married to the former diplomat Ariel Kenet and has two sons.
