Mirjam Kristensen (born May 17, 1978 in Farsund ) is a Norwegian writer . Today she lives in Kristiansand .

Life

Kristensen grew up in the towns of Flekkefjord and Lyngdal . She studied history of ideas and literary studies at the University of Oslo . She also attended the Heimly Folkehøgskole writing school in Troms . She is a librarian and initially worked for the Stiftelsen Arkivet in Kristiansand, a foundation established in 1998 to manage the state archive from 1942 to 1945, which is located in the so-called Arkivet, the Gestapo headquarters at the time. Kristensen published the foundation's annual publication, Nytt blikk . She currently works for the city's public library (Kristiansand Folkebibliotek).

Kristensen is married to the writer and book critic Pål Gitmark Eriksen (* 1973). You have two children.

Kristensen has written five novels so far , for which she has received various prizes and grants . In 2000 she published her debut , which was also translated into French. Her third novel, En ettermiddag om høsten, was very successful in Scandinavia when it appeared in 2006 . In 2009 it appeared in the German translation by Ina Kronenberger under the title An Afternoon in Autumn by Dörlemann Verlag .

In addition to her novels, Kristensen has also published articles in the anthologies Berørt (1998), Prosa fra en liten by (2002) and Art is not an intellectual way of thinking (2014).
