Miroslav Ouzký (born August 18, 1958 in Chlumec nad Cidlinou ) is a Czech politician of the conservative party ODS and a member of the European Parliament .

Miroslav Ouzký studied medicine at the Charles University in Prague , where he received his doctorate in 1983. 1983-90 he worked as a surgeon , 1989-91 as chief physician of the rehabilitation department in a hospital in Kadaň . From 1994–2004 he was a member of the city council, from 1998–2004 he was also a member of the Czech Chamber of Deputies , where until 2002 he headed the subcommittee on investments in health care.

From 2003 Ouzký was an observer in the European Parliament , where he prepared the Czech EU accession in 2004 . In the 2004 European elections , the first, took part in the Czech Republic, he moved himself one in the European Parliament, where he joined the Christian Democrat-Conservative faction EPP-ED joined. Ouzký became a member of the parliamentary group's executive committee and was elected to one of the 14 parliamentary vice-presidents. In February 2007, he resigned from the latter position to replace the German Karl-Heinz Florenz as chairman of the committee on environmental issues, public health and food safety . In 2014 he left the European Parliament.

Miroslav Ouzký is married and has a son and a daughter.
