Mirtha Legrand
Mirtha Legrand (actually Rosa María Juana Martínez Suárez ; born February 23, 1927 in Villa Cañás , Santa Fe province ) is an Argentine actress and television presenter . She became particularly popular as the presenter of the show Almorzando con Mirtha Legrand, which has been broadcast since 1968 .
Career
Mirtha Legrand and her twin sister Silvia Legrand were born on February 23, 1927 in Villa Cañás. Her older brother is the director and screenwriter José A. Martínez Suárez (1925–2019).
In 1940 she and her sister got their first roles in the film Hay que educar a Niní . By the mid-1960s, she appeared in almost 30 films.
From 1968 she hosted the television show Almorzando con Mirtha Legrand , which has been running on Argentine television with brief interruptions since then.
Private life
From 1946 until his death on October 24, 1994, Legrand was married to director and screenwriter Daniel Tinayre . The marriage had two children.
