Daniel Tinayre

Daniel Andrés Manoli Tinayre (born September 14, 1910 in France , † October 24, 1994 in Buenos Aires ) was an Argentine director , screenwriter and film producer .

Life

Tinayre was born in France in 1910 to Andres Tinayre and Margarita Bernet. His family emigrated to Argentina shortly afterwards. From the 1930s he worked as a director, screenwriter and producer in the Argentine film industry.

His 1949 film La danza del fuego screened in competition at the 1951 Cannes International Film Festival . The drama La patota was shown in the competition at the Berlinale 1961 . In the following year he also made an entry in the competition at the Berlinale 1962 with Die Nun und die Sünderin . Forty nights full of treachery and sex ran in 1963 in the competition of the 3rd Moscow International Film Festival .

Tinayre was married to actress and presenter Mirtha Legrand from 1946 until his death . The marriage had two children.
